I firmly believe that you have to enjoy what you're doing to progress so my sessions try to be relaxed and fun but informative. I also believe that hard work pays off, so I expect my pupils to practice and try hard in lessons.

Most of my pupils will take grades. I teach 3 syllabuses - Rockschool (electric guitar and bass), Trinity Rock and Pop (electric or acoustic guitar) and ABRSM (classical guitar). Teaching these different syllabuses allows pupils to choose what type of music they would like to study and work towards their exams. All syllabuses at grade 6 and above provide UCAS points - please see grades/exam info page.

I am keen for pupils to work towards grades, as this provides a structured learning programme which most students really enjoy. However, if pupils do not wish to take grades, I am happy to provide tailor made lessons according to their individual preferences. I have plenty of resources and ideas to assist with this.
